Goodwood 74th Members’ Meeting

  • March 22, 2016

So, my first blog post, and I can’t think of a better way to kick it off!

Sat at the bar at a beautiful pub in a small village in Chichester. That’s where we found ourselves on the friday evening; a short sleep in the Camper and just a few miles between us and a weekend of what was to be the most atmospheric weekend of classic motorsport I have experienced to date.

Having attended the Goodwood Revival on many occasions, I had held it in such a high regard that I had told myself it couldn’t possibly be trumped. It’s nice to be proven  wrong sometimes. That’s not to say the Revival pales into insignificance, very far from it in fact, but the Members’ Meeting takes all of those qualities that the Revival Meeting has, amplifies them, and still manages to seem a genuine nod to eras of days gone by, without the slightest whiff of gimmick. Tweed, motor oil and all. I cannot wait to get back!
